POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented real estate investment professional to help manage opportunities from initial review through acquisition and post-closing execution.
This role combines underwriting, due diligence, transaction management, and asset management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both commercial real estate and debt investments and will be responsible for helping drive transactions from opportunity evaluation through closing and ultimately to resolution.
This is not a pure underwriting role and it is not a traditional property-level asset management position. We are looking for someone who can analyze opportunities, manage complex processes, coordinate third parties, identify risks, and ensure that transactions move forward efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Underwrite distressed debt and opportunistic real estate investment opportunities
- Analyze property value, market conditions, and investment risk
- Manage due diligence from initial review through closing
- Review title reports, surveys, leases, taxes, insurance, litigation, foreclosure status, and debt structure
- Coordinate attorneys, title companies, brokers, consultants, property managers, and other third-party professionals
- Track critical diligence items and ensure deadlines are met
- Identify material risks and communicate findings clearly to management
- Prepare investment summaries, recommendations, and transaction updates
- Assist with acquisitions, loan purchases, workouts, foreclosures, restructurings, and dispositions
- Support post-acquisition execution, including business plan implementation and asset management initiatives
- Help ensure that opportunities move efficiently from evaluation to closing and beyond
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate, lending, acquisitions, underwriting, asset management, private credit, or a related field
- Strong understanding of commercial real estate valuation and debt structures
- Excellent analytical and financial skills
- Exceptional organizational and project management abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously
- Highly detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Comfortable working with incomplete information and solving complex problems
- Ability to think independently and identify issues before they become problems
