Real Estate Attorney

We are seeking an experienced Residential Real Estate Attorney to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential real estate transactions (with some knowledge of commercial) and be comfortable managing closings from contract to closing while providing exceptional service to clients, lenders, and real estate professionals.

Responsibilities

• Work with dedicated staff to review and oversee residential real estate transactions from contract through closing.
• Draft, review, and/or approve deeds, settlement statements, affidavits, title-related documents, and closing packages.
• Conduct residential real estate closings and provide legal guidance to buyers and sellers.
• Review title searches, surveys, liens, and other matters affecting title.
• Resolve title issues and coordinate with lenders, title insurance companies, real estate agents, and clients.
• Ensure all transactions comply with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Draft title opinions, CPLs, commitments, and title policy documentation.
• Manage client relationships and provide timely legal advice throughout the transaction process.
• Utilize Qualia software to manage files, workflows, and transaction documentation.
• Assist with post-closing matters, including document recording and issue resolution when necessary.
• Willingness to assist in other practice areas of the firm as needed, primarily simple land transfers and simple estate planning.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in South Carolina.
• 2+ years experience handling residential real estate closings from start to finish.
• Familiarity with title examination, title curative work, and closing procedures.
• Experience with Qualia software preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions while meeting deadlines.
