Title: Reading Adjunct Instructor

Job Summary

The Humanities Division has openings to teach Hybrid, Online or on campus sections of RDG 30 at multiple Jefferson Campuses.

Job Duties

• The primary responsibilities of these positions are to teach courses • Maintain some office hours for mentoring and coaching students • Success and retention activities • Utilization of a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback

Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree with at least eighteen graduate hours in the teaching discipline, or a Master's degree specifically in the teaching discipline is preferred.

Strong consideration will be given to applicants with undergraduate coursework in literacy education, adult education, or content literacy, along with relevant teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates who have experience with intersectional, inclusive instruction and with a demonstrated ability to incorporate diverse perspectives into teaching and student engagement are encouraged to identify those experiences in the application materials.

Candidates should also have experience and sensitivity working with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds and a commitment to fostering an inclusive work and learning environment in which students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive.
