The Plant Quality Shift Lead is responsible to assure that process standards are applied in order to meet regulation/ISO requirements, customer satisfaction, and company standard. They report directly to the Quality Operations Manager. They lead a diverse team of salary and hourly Quality professionals integrating into the production and engineering processes while ensuring a solid partnership with manufacturing focusing on Quality processes and Customer Safety.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist in root cause, containment and corrective actions for all quality related issues
Initiate investigations of quality concerns internally, at supplier locations and resulting from customer feedback and utilize data to drive issues to closure
Achieve timely completion of containment corrective actions (Performance action notices)
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and utilize problem solving tools in day-to-day operations to drive issue resolution
Provide technical liaison support between Engineering, Quality, Production and Product Design departments
Represent the 'Voice of the Customer' to platform teams
Establish, maintain documentation of processes and train utilizing Stellantis SPW tools
Embrace and execute standardization of best practices that ensure quality products
Document all non-conformance conditions found and identify and execute opportunities for process improvement
Establish clean points and maintain acceptable quality standards
Demonstrate a working knowledge of vehicle audit items
Supervise all major aspects of vehicle inspection and analyze data for comparison to daily vehicle audits
Supervise the auditing of new production vehicles to validate quality or identify quality concerns
Effective supervision of all employees as assigned
Management of timesheets, performance evaluations, scheduling and time off approval for bargaining unit (UAW) employees
Responsible for adherence to the Collective Bargaining Unit (UAW) contract provisions that affect area or employees under supervision
Support the improvement of company-wide quality performance and achievement of quality and business metrics and best-in-class standing class standing
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of Automotive Quality experience, including involvement with management, hourly, or skilled personnel
Strong experience in application of problem solving tools
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong team building skills
Self-directed and team oriented with demonstrated planning/problem solving skills
Experience and working knowledge of computer systems and software
Ability to work rotating shifts that include weekends and overtime as required
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineering or technical degree Vehicle audit/quality experience
Demonstrated experience supervising hourly personnel in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/develop team members
Previous experience working in a union environment
