Road & Rail Services is hiring a dependable Railcar Inspector / Prep employee to support our Montgomery operation. In this role, you will inspect, clean, and prepare railcars for transportation while also completing minor repairs using stick welding when needed.
This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced outdoor environment. You will work around rail equipment, use cleaning and scraping tools, and help make sure each railcar is safe, clean, and ready to move.
What You'll Do
As a Railcar Inspector / Prep employee, you will inspect railcars for damage, remove debris, and identify repairs that can be completed by Road & Rail Services. You will also use stick welding to complete approved minor repairs.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Inspecting railcars for damage, wear, and fatigue
• Opening and closing railcar end doors
• Removing debris and contaminants with backpack blowers and scraping tools
• Performing basic stick welding and approved railcar repairs
You will also maintain assigned tools and equipment, keep the work area clean, and follow all company, customer, and industry safety procedures.

Qualified candidates should have:
• Previous stick welding experience
• Experience using basic hand and power tools
• The ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Reliable attendance and a strong safety mindset
Previous rail, industrial, manufacturing, maintenance, construction, or general labor experience is helpful.
