Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic x-ray exams as ordered by providers using proper exposure techniques (MA, KV, time, and distance).
- Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and families to ensure comfort and understanding.
- Apply radiation protection practices in accordance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Maintain sterile technique and prevent cross-contamination.
- Conduct regular quality control checks on radiologic and darkroom equipment to ensure optimal image quality.
- Complete and maintain appropriate imaging records and referral logs.
- Ensure all x-ray films and images are stored, tracked, and reviewed in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Registered as a Radiology Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) prior to hire
- Current Iowa permit to practice radiologic technology.
- Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
- Familiarity with EPIC a plus!
- For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or to float to other locations to support optimized staffing
