Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiology Technician to join our medical imaging team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnostic radiology, including specialized modalities such as Nuclear Medicine, PET scans, CT, Mammography, DEXA scans, and sonography. This role requires a professional with strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, capable of performing diagnostic evaluations in fast-paced environments such as Level I and Level II trauma centers, urgent care facilities, and emergency rooms. The Radiology Technician will play a vital role in providing accurate imaging services to support patient diagnosis and treatment plans.

Duties

• Operate a variety of diagnostic imaging equipment including X-ray, CT scanners, PET scanners, Mammography units, DEXA scanners, and sonography devices.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Apply aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and maintain sterile environments.
• Accurately capture high-quality images for diagnostic evaluation while adhering to safety protocols.
• Assist physicians with specialized imaging procedures such as nuclear medicine, mammography, or emergency diagnostics.
• Maintain detailed records of imaging procedures and ensure proper documentation within patient files.
• Monitor patient condition during procedures, especially in urgent care or trauma settings, providing immediate assistance if necessary.
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated according to regulatory standards.
• Stay current with advances in medical imaging technology and techniques through ongoing education.

Requirements

• Proven experience in diagnostic radiology with expertise in X-ray, CT, PET scan, Mammography, DEXA scan, sonography, and nuclear medicine modalities.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and diagnostic evaluation processes.
• Experience working in emergency medicine settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique and safety protocols during imaging procedures.
• Ability to operate complex medical imaging equipment accurately and efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
• Certification from an accredited radiologic technology program; licensure as required by state regulations.
