Radiologic Technology Clinical Coordinator / Faculty Instructor

About the Position

Mitchell Technical College (MTC) is seeking a highly organized and clinical-focused professional to fill the dual role of Radiologic Technology Clinical Coordinator / Faculty Instructor for our Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited Associate of Applied Science (AAS) program. This full-time faculty position begins August 2026. It offers a rewarding opportunity to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world clinical application, managing our expansive clinical affiliate network while working in a supportive, cutting-edge, and student-centered environment.

Program Overview

The Radiologic Technology program at Mitchell Technical College is a comprehensive 21-month AAS degree that seamlessly combines rigorous didactic instruction, hands-on laboratory training, and clinical rotations across a diverse network of healthcare facilities in South Dakota. Students receive premier training in radiographic positioning, patient care, radiation safety, imaging equipment, pathology, and advanced modalities. Graduates are fully prepared for successful careers in hospitals, clinics, and medical offices, and are eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) national certification examination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Network Management: Coordinate, oversee, and evaluate the program''s clinical education component across all regional healthcare affiliates.
  • Site Visits & Compliance: Maintain regular liaison with clinical preceptors, conduct routine clinical site visits to ensure a safe and compliant learning environment, and ensure clinical education adheres perfectly to JRCERT standards.
  • Student Competency Tracking: Evaluate, log, and track student clinical progress, procedural competencies, and overall professional skill proficiency.
  • Instructional Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging, high-quality lesson plans for didactic and laboratory courses on campus.
  • Orientation & Placement: Coordinate and lead clinical orientations for students and clinical preceptors, managing the student placement process fairly and systematically.

Minimum Qualifications (JRCERT Compliant)

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required or associate's degree and willingness to obtain a bachelor''s degree.
  • Credentials: Current professional credentials in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Experience: Minimum of two (3) years of professional clinical experience in the radiologic sciences.
  • Skills: Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a proven ability to maintain strong professional relationships with healthcare partners.
  • Background: Must successfully pass a state and federal criminal background check.
