Duties Description Under the direction of the Assistant Director of the Office of Interoperable and Emergency Communications (OIEC) the incumbent is responsible for OIEC engineering, program technical support functions of the Office. The incumbent manages the 911 Unit, plans, organizes and directs activities relative to OIEC authority, supervises staff within the unit as well as collaborates with staff from other Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services offices, external agencies and outside entities including local governments, federal agencies, and consultants.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Minimum Qualifications NON-COMPETITIVE
Current NYS employee with one year or more of qualifying, permanent service as a Radio Engineer
OR
Nine years of experience as a radio systems engineer involving the development, deployment, operation, and maintenance of wireless land mobile radio or other wireless communications systems, of which two years must have included supervisory experience.

Additional Comments NOTE: Support of operations during times of emergency and disaster from State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), state field offices and/or local deployments may be required, which would result in a change and/or increase in working hours, locations and/or duties.
