Job Summary

The Radiation Oncology Nurse is responsible for collaborating with the Radiation Oncologist and Radiation Therapist to coordinate services that ensure quality patient care and continuity of services to patients and their families in the department.

This position reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager, Cancer Center and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

This position is part of the Massachusetts Nurses Association Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

Qualifications

Education

  • Other Certificate/Diploma Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Licenses and Credentials

  • Registered Nurse [RN - Massachusetts] - required
  • Basic Life Support - required

Experience

  • For candidates who do not have a BSN, a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years experience in in radiation oncology or other relevant experience 1-2 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to practice independently and as a team member required.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, peers, physicians, and family members required.
