Role Overview

The Radiologic Technologist III (Rad Tech/MRI, PRN) supports timely diagnostic imaging by accurately interpreting provider orders and producing high-quality images while prioritizing patient comfort, safety, and service standards. This senior-level, per diem role is on-call with rotating days, evenings, and nights as needed (approximately 16 hours/week).

Key responsibilities include performing radiographic exams; positioning patients appropriately; working independently in general radiography plus at least two modalities (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and/or Mammography); maintaining darkroom operations and film files as applicable; documenting and communicating clearly using medical terminology; and using PACS/RIS, basic computer tools, and phone systems to coordinate care.

Required qualifications/skills:
- ARRT certification and current ISBH licensure
- Current CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with all age groups

Shift Flow

At the start of your PRN shift, you’ll confirm coverage needs, scan the imaging schedule for updates, and verify rooms and equipment are ready. As patients arrive from outpatient, inpatient, or ED areas, you’ll keep the workflow moving by coordinating timing with nursing and providers and tracking details in PACS/RIS. You’ll set clear expectations for each patient, maintain a calm, service-focused approach, and adjust quickly when urgent add-ons change priorities. Between cases, you’ll stay attentive to department readiness and image availability, then provide a concise, accurate handoff so the next team can continue without interruption.
