R&D Technician

Job Summary

Join our team in San Jose, a vibrant city in California known for its innovation and proximity to Silicon Valley. As an R&D Technician, you will support the development of solid-state batteries by executing cell fabrication, processing materials, and managing lab operations. This role involves running experiments with scientists, following standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documenting test results.

Core Responsibilities

• Cell Fabrication & Testing: Build coin cells, pouch cells, or proprietary solid-state devices following strict SOPs.
• Experiment Support: Collaborate with engineers and scientists on materials processing, metrology, and lab experiments.
• Data & Documentation: Record experimental data, track inventory, and report anomalies or results using MS Office or internal tools.
• Lab Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe workspace and ensure equipment and supplies are in order.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1 year of hands-on experience in a laboratory, R&D, or process manufacturing environment.
• Physical & Environmental: Ability to work in a dry room, fume hood, or glovebox requiring fine motor skills and lifting up to 15–25 lbs.
• Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, team-focused, and able to communicate observations clearly.

Highly Desired Qualifications

• Experience in the battery industry or hi-tech device assembly.
• Knowledge of failure analysis, ceramic coatings, or microscope-scale products.

Shift Details

Day Shift: Sunday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
