    Description

    Job Title: R&D Technician II
    Location: Plymouth, MN 55442
    Duration: 12 Months of Contract + possible extension
    Shift: 8 AM 4.30 PM

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Perform mechanical, electrical, conditioning, length, OD, and visual tests on medical devices
    • Follow detailed written and verbal instructions
    • Maintain accurate documentation using good documentation practices
    • Communicate clearly with engineers regarding test results and observations
    • Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate safety equipment
    • Utilize lab tools and equipment including calipers, MTS, multimeters, digital thermometers, force gauges, Cognex, LabView, and hand tools
    • Maintain a work balance of approximately 85% lab time and 15% desk time (100% on-site)

    Required Qualifications:
    • 1 4 years of relevant experience or post-high school education
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
    • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work independently
    • Familiarity with medical device testing or product assembly preferred
    • Experience in R&D or testing environments is a plus
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Document drafting experience is beneficial

    Candidate Profile:
    • Solid work history with demonstrated reliability (e.g., 2+ years at the same company)
    • Career progression or transferable skills relevant to testing or mechanical work
    • AA degree or post-secondary education preferred
    • BS in engineering or master s degree is considered overqualified
    • Candidates with BS degrees in chemistry, biomedical, or physics are typically not a fit due to long-term retention concerns
    • Ideal candidates are hands-on, focused, and interested in long-term growth within the team not seeking a steppingstone role

    Manager Preferences:
