    Job Title

    R&D Technician II

    Hands-on production role responsible for setting up, running, cleaning, and breaking down ceramics manufacturing equipment (milling and spray drying). This is a physical, equipment-focused position, not a lab research or testing role. Requires independent work, heavy lifting, and comfort with repetitive daily processes.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    Runs and cleans production equipment, primarily milling and spray drying systems, as the main powder producer for the line. Loads powders, cleans slip messes, and scrubs spray dryer walls. Tears down equipment between each run, this makes up roughly 80% of the job. Lifts and moves 50+ lbs regularly, including buckets of ceramic media and heavy material. Works independently under limited supervision, applying approved work instructions to production and equipment maintenance. Cross-trains across equipment and processes to build full working knowledge of the production line. Overlaps with the other shift technician for about 1 to 1.5 hours to support handoff. Complies with safety and quality standards, including required PPE (respirator, and occasional face shield and gown).

    Job Requirements:

    Education:

    High School diploma or equivalent plus 3 years related work experience, or Bachelor's degree with 1 year of related work experience.

    Experience:

    • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
    • Experience with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting preferred

    Required Skills:

    • Responsible and self-directed, able to work with lean staffing and minimal oversight
    • Comfortable with physically demanding, repetitive daily tasks
    • Able to safely lift 50+ lbs and work with powders, chemicals, and heavy equipment

    Nice to Have Skills:

    • Mechanical or maintenance background (tools, wrenches, moving parts)
    • Comfort operating equipment controls (mixers, pumps)
    • Experience disassembling/reassembling industrial equipment

    Position Specific Physical Requirements:

    • Required to wear appropriate PPE at all times in work areas (respirator, occasional face shield and gown)
    • May be required to handle hazardous chemicals such as acids and solvents
    • May be required to wear a respirator (medical evaluation required prior to fitting)
    • Required to lift 50+ lbs regularly

    Target Hiring Range

    : USD 22.84 - USD 27.62
