As an R&D Engineer here at Solstice, you will be accountable for conducting advanced research and development activities in a Pilot Plant operations environment to drive innovation and deliver cutting‑edge solutions. You will play a key role in running chemical operations R&D projects in alignment with the company's business goals. In this role, you will report directly to our Senior R&D Manager of the Pilot Plant at our Buffalo, NY location.In this role, you will impact the development of new technologies and solutions that address critical demand in the chemical and sustainability industry. You will work with cross‑functional teams to support chemical operations projects and foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct advanced research and development activities to drive innovationWork with cross‑functional teams to develop, design, and execute complicated chemical operations projectsDirect Pilot Plant Operators in the day‑to‑day functions of the operationDevelop and write Standard Operating Procedures and train operators on the proceduresParticipate in Process Hazard Analyses and contribute as process expert and drive action items and deliverablesSupport Pilot Plant daily operations, audits, safety initiatives, and building projectsQualificationsBachelor's or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or another related field0–4+ years of experience engineering in the chemical industry, either in operations, process engineering, or research and developmentAbility to apply core process and technical knowledge to unfamiliar technologiesWe ValueDiverse experience in Chemical Unit Operations including: Distillation, Heat Transfer, and Reactor SystemsAbility to come up with creative technical solutions for a given problemPassion for innovation and continuous learningAttention to detailUS Person RequirementDue to compliance with US export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a US person, which is defined as a US citizen, a US permanent resident, or have protected status in the US under asylum or refugee status.CompensationThe annual base range for this position is $67,992–$84,965.
