Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system design. Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product''s environment. Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance. Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. Works under general direction.

Team Background/ Reason for Need:
Team is a design center, their role is not tied to any particular program. They have a team of design and stress engineers and they work with programs across the company to bring in more resources to assist with the work they have. The hiring team will align each candidate to a team based on their skills and the projects that need to be done.

Position Responsibilities:
" Strength analysis will include interpretation of vehicle loads and environments, stress calculations and development of margins of safety with known allowables.
" Observance of program standards and requirements to insure structural integrity, and documentation of stress reports.
" Develops, integrates and documents complex or unique structural requirements to establish the system design.
" Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
" Support and confirmation of fracture assessments for service life requirements.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
" Experience with Aerospace Structural hardware and Finite Element Method (FEM).
" Excellent strength reporting writing skills.
" Finite Element Analysis (FEA) including NASTRAN.
" Some experience with launch vehicle structures.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Fracture Mechanics and Damage Tolerance analysis
Significant experience with launch vehicle structures
Strength analysis will include interpretation of vehicle loads and environments, stress calculations and development of margins of safety with known allowables.

- Work collectively across the enterprise, contractors will be supporting different programs based on where the needs are
- Looking for adaptability to ramp up quickly across various programs
- Level 4 - leadership experience
- Structural design reqs - please ensure they have experience with one of the following: catia, creo, NX CAD
- Structural analysis reqs - nastran, patran, CSW (Boeing+)


Education/Experience:
Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.


Ability to pass Background, Drug Screen and if applicable Medical (i.e. Vision, Hearing, or Physical) if Required by Client.
