We are currently looking for a Quality Technician to join our team! 

Job Summary: This position reviews quality processes in the plant to determine that adequate quality processes exist and ensures they are being followed. This role is part of the solution when problems are identified. The Quality Lead utilizes training materials to assist Product Category Manager's (PCM) in promoting quality improvements in their areas. The expectation is that this position works to improve the quality of products from beginning (Good documents and Critical to Quality (CTQ) Call Outs) to end (Solid manufacturing processes and execution along with proper shipping packaging) to ensure quality products are received by our customers.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Previous manufacturing experience is required.
  • Must be able to utilize information from engineering drawings to assure product conformance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Must be able to use inspection tools accurately and have a very high level of attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coach associates in a diplomatic manner is required.
  • Requires computer skills to collect and report data related to quality performance.
  • Assures processes are being followed and quality product is passed to the next process and our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Checks the shipping schedule and audits final product prior to loading.
  • Conducts additional audits for new operators.
  • Checks the production schedule and conducts first piece inspection (FPI) audits in each production department to ensure:
  • Drawings are available at workstations.
  • Inspections are being completed by operators and recorded on the drawings or check sheets.
  • A check of all CTQs shows compliance, and appropriate inspection labels are used.
  • Products inspections occur to make sure products are built in a quality manner with no defects or other issues.
  • Documents findings from inspection reviews and take appropriate actions:
  • Reports to engineering or Quality Assurance Lead any missing drawings.
  • Consults with Associates, Leads, and PCMs about any inspection documentation or workmanship problems.
  • Assists with Root Cause/Correct Action on quality issues with appropriate personnel.
  • Supports the Shipping department to ensure best practices packaging is followed and all BOM Items are included.
  • Audits shipments on dock to make sure the correct product and quantity is pulled.
  • Occasionally uses with power/hand tools.
  • Performs tasks safely including wearing safety glasses and gloves as described in JHA requirements.
  • Assists with special production runs or high-profile products.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
