Job Description
Pre Requisites:
High school diploma or GED equivalency
Read, write and speak English
Past experience / proven ability
Certified Quality Technician or Equivalent Experience
Be able to follow written verbal instructions
Must be able to read/understand basic math, blueprints, and SPC
Be able to read measuring instruments such as micrometers, etc.
Must be able to perform the duties of an inspector
Complete Internal Auditor Training
Certified Mechanical Inspector or Equivalent Experience
Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, and e-mail
Supervisory skills desirable
Specific Duties: (Included but are not limited to)
a. Purpose
b. Date
c. Analysis
d. Conclusion
Program and operate a CMM
Inspect all Erie products for quality, appearance and finish
Be able to follow and understand work instructions
Be able to follow and understand drawings and prints
Legibly complete and maintain records as instructed or per quality documentation
Recommend ways to improve quality, workmanship, methods of production, etc.
Configure and use Infinity computer files as needed
Back up all inspector positions as required (may require shift work)
Follow work instructions to complete special metrology requests.
Use statistical methods as required
Perform incoming inspections and work with outside suppliers for purchased items as required
Follow work instructions to maintain and update calibration system, document control system, quality control plans and internal audit system as required
Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping
Be safety conscious at all times
Assist in writing or revising work instructions as required
Authorities: (Included but are not limited to)
Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any nonconforming product or quality systems.
Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality system.
Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
Prevent nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
Verify the implementation of solutions.
