Perform component, packaging, information, process, and product quality checks to ensure company objectives and customer expectations are met. Act as a role model for safety and encourage fellow employees to work in a safe manner.
Essential Job Functions:
-Execute quality checks on finished material
-Visually and physically inspect each unique impression position
-Moisture checks (gravimetric, Aqua Measure, Max 1000, NDC, etc.)
-UPC scan quality rating
-Glue weights (lab, NDC, etc.)
-Registration, print, appearance and other critical visual attributes
-Measuring web width, repeat length and other critical dimensions
-Produce color standards and product samples
-COF test on the TMI Monitor/Slip and friction tester
-Produce handmade popcorn bags for functional testing in microwave
-Other prescribed testing, inspecting and quality functions
-Execute quality checks on incoming raw materials, including but not limited to:
-Wetting tension of metalized material
-Optical density of metalized films
-Qualitative method for determining Quilon treatment
-Perform solid check on all incoming bulk adhesives
-Perform all required lab test, maintain records, and complete reports – as assigned
-Learn and execute computer skills required by the position (Including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
-Communicate with the shift supervisor and line operator of inadequate quality attributes and unsafe actions/conditions
-Work safely, utilizing all required personal protective equipment
-Familiarize yourself with new equipment, test procedures and policies
-Practice and support by all policies and procedures established by the company
-Maintain a clean and healthy work environment
-Must be willing and able to work in a culture built around continuous improvement, change, and align to the plant goals.
-Collaborate with line operators and shift supervisor to eliminate substandard quality.
-Collaborate on rejection of raw materials with line operators and shift supervisors.
-Model the company principles of Respectful, Relentless, Accountable
-Talk through issues in a constructive manner where issues are the focus of discussion and provide constructive criticism in a positive manner
-Be proficient with the new equipment used by QA Technicians
-Develop communication, process improvement techniques, trouble-shooting knowledge, computer skills, and test techniques, always striving to be and do your best
-Train backup Quality Technicians
-Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Physical:
-Standing, reaching and walking,
-Unrestricted color perception
-Ability to apply push/pull force up to 90 pounds of force to do quality punch outs for testing purposes
-Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Skills:
-Ability to read/write English and communicate effectively with press team
-Ability and experience reading a tape measure, including fractions
-Ability to perform arithmetic functions and trend analysis
-Ability to use critical thinking to plan and problem-solve
-Ability to react positively to change & be flexible when dealing with work or people issues.
Education:
-High school diploma or equivalent required
-Two years Quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
