Client Overview:
Our client is a leading food manufacturing organization dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality products to consumers nationwide. They are currently seeking a Quality Technician (Food Manufacturing) to support quality assurance and food safety initiatives on their 2nd Shift team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$22/hr - $24/hr

Position Overview:
The Quality Technician (Food Manufacturing) will support quality assurance, food safety, and compliance activities within a manufacturing environment. This position works closely with production teams to ensure products meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining a safe, high-quality operation. The Quality Technician (Food Manufacturing) will work Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with occasional overtime on Saturdays. The ideal candidate will have experience in a regulated manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of quality systems, inspections, and food safety standards.

Responsibilities of the Quality Technician (Food Manufacturing):
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
  • Perform product inspections, testing, sampling, and documentation reviews.
  • Support investigations related to quality concerns and non-conformances.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Conduct audits of manufacturing, sanitation, and GMP practices.
  • Collect and prepare samples for internal and external testing.
  • Calibrate and verify production and laboratory equipment as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement and quality system initiatives.
  • Partner with operations teams to promote a culture of quality, food safety, and compliance.
Required Experience/Skills for the Quality Technician (Food Manufacturing):
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field is a plus.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Laboratory Operations, Food Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, or a regulated production environment.
  • Basic understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, and quality systems.
  • Experience with inspections, sampling, testing, documentation review, or other quality-related activities.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, sanitation programs, environmental monitoring, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift and provide occasional flexibility for weekends or alternate shift coverage as needed.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Quality Technician (Food Manufacturing):
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience conducting audits, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems, ERP systems, or production tracking software.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field preferred, or 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing.
