Quality Technician

LifeSpice Ingredients, a fast-growing, entrepreneurial, international food company has an opening for a Quality Technician in our River North location. Steps away from the Brown line, and easily accessible from public transportation takes the stress out of your morning commute.

The Quality Technician will ensure that LifeSpice proprietary blends meet all quality and regulatory requirements including chemical, physical, and microbiological specifications.

As a Quality Technician at LifeSpice, you will:

• * Work directly with the Quality & Regulatory Team ensuring daily tasks are completed on time and in full, including:

• o* facilitating daily sensory setup, evaluation, and cleanup,

  o* assessing finished seasoning blends for quality acceptability to assure product meets specifications,

  o* managing hold and release of finished seasonings and raw materials,

  o* assisting with product quality investigations,

  o* maintaining organization of sample retain area,

  o* entering results and creating quality documentation for finished seasoning blends including Certificates of Analysis (COA),

  o* communicating with multiple internal and external departments

• * Occasional travel to blending partner and distribution center

• You have:

• * 0-2 years of experience in quality or the food industry
• * Strong attention to detail, time management, and effective communication skills
• * Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) a plus
• * Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
• * High school diploma
• * Associate or bachelor's degree in a science-related field preferred
• * Ability to participate in daily sensory panels, with no food allergies or taste or smell limitations

• •* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods in a lab setting with exposure to various food ingredients and allergens
