The Quality Control Technician will test and disposition finished products and raw materials per defined quality plans within a chemical manufacturing facility. They also perform non-routine testing, tasks and investigation as required to maintain product quality. The incumbent is expected to efficiently and accurately conduct testing and appropriately rework batches at a rate necessary to enable production personnel to continue work at an unimpaired rate.

  • Generation of finished product and raw material certificates of compliance.
  • Manual testing of raw materials and finished products according to specific quality plan.
  • Tool calibrations as required.
  • Data entry of test results.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of work stations.
  • Reviewing & filing vendor Certificates of Analysis.
  • Labeling and moving raw materials in computer inventory.
  • Directing rework of non-conforming batches.
  • Dispose of QC wastes in the prescribed manner.
  • Assist lab/sales personnel with appropriate testing in development of specifications for new products.
  • Initiating investigation of statistically suspect process data.
  • Entering test results into local testing software.
  • Technician-level expertise in corporate-mandated ERP software.
  • The incumbent is expected to communicate as appropriate with the following internal and external entities as appropriate to the situation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to manually prepare samples for testing.
  • Ability to wear respirator as judged by qualitative fit test.
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in chemistry or biology.
  • Equivalent industrial experience.
  • Prior quality control/laboratory experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of required continuous improvement techniques.
