The Quality Technical Supervisor leads and directs the Quality Technicians in the inspection, testing, and documentation of fabrication services assemblies and processes to ensure conformance to both Swagelok and
customer quality requirements. This position is accountable for the performance, development, and daily direction of Quality Technicians, while also maintaining hands-on technical ownership of inspection and testing. The Quality Technical Supervisor plays a critical role in driving a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and accountability to support Customer Confidence and scalability to meet business needs. Expectations
Quality Leadership & Supervision
•   Supervise, schedule, and direct the daily work of Quality Technicians to meet inspection, testing, and certification demand.
•   Plan and prioritize daily quality assignments across incoming inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
•   Provide support, training and guidance to quality technicians
•   Perform all supervisory functions for quality technicians
•   Support corrective actions, root cause analysis, and non-conformance dispositions.
•   Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
 
Technical / Hands-On Responsibilities
•   Perform in process and final product inspections.
•   Perform function testing and assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as needed.
•   Perform Positive Material Identification (PMI) testing and documentation.
•   Read and interpret drawings, including P&ID and electrical schematics, to verify conformance.•   Gain and maintain Swagelok CP Certifications and ensure technicians maintain required certifications
•   Manage calibration program

General Leadership
•   Maintain focus on strategic SSET objectives while delivering departmental excellence.
•   Communicate and collaborate between departments, associates, and leaders as necessary.
•   Demonstrate support for company programs through words and actions; lead by example.
•   Promote “One Swagelok” and “Customer Confidence”
•   Assist with hiring and associate on-boarding processes.
•   Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
•   Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and trainings.
•   Suggest and implement process improvement ideas promoting an environment of scaling to support sales goals and customer needs.

Associate Development
•   Manage associate performance, development, and disciplinary matters for Quality Technicians.
•   Develop training plans, identify staffing needs, and match capacity to staffing.
•   Identify associates for promotional and cross-training opportunities; make recommendations to management.
 
Position Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred.
 
Experience
•   5+ years related industry experience preferred.
•   3+ years in a quality inspection and/or test role required.
•   2+ years leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
•   Knowledge of complex fluid systems preferred.
•   Working knowledge in Microsoft Office applications; primarily Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
•   Working knowledge of SAP / BI up a plus
