Responsibilities:

Your Role: 

 

The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer standards, and company policies. This role oversees programs such as HACCP, GMPs, SQF/BRC/FSMA compliance, document control, internal audits, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Systems Manager works cross‑functionally to drive a strong food safety culture, ensure audit readiness, manage risk, and support consistent production of safe, high‑quality food products.

  • Leading the Quality system for the plant from heavy industrial to finished goods processing

     

  • Comply with the SQP and GMP practices and programs to ensure safe food packaging product and to report product safety problems to those with authority to take action.

     

  • Maintains up to date quality and safety records.

     

  • Ensures adherence to all legal and regulatory compliances.

     

  • Create and maintain systems for the identification and resolution of scrap issues

     

  • Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality plan to bring the Company's Quality Systems and Policies into compliance with quality system requirements.

     

  • Lead Quality audits, both internally and externally with customers’ auditors

     

  • Effectively interact with Production and Development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products

     

  • Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.

     

  • Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation.

     

  • Agreeing standards and establishing clearly defined quality methods for staff to apply.

     

  • Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures.

     

  • Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.

     

  • Identifying relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training.

     

  • Collating and analyzing performance data and charts against defined parameters.

     

  • Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary.

     

  • Writing technical and management systems reports.

     

  • Manage and maintain the Company's quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods or implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the QA/QC.

     

  • Assessing the product specifications of the company and its suppliers and comparing with customer requirements.

Qualifications:

We need you to have: 

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Operations, Business or related field.

     

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification or training.

  • 7+ years’ experience in a manufacturing and/or Quality Assurance environment.

     

  • 10+ years’ of experience in food manufacturing

     

  • Experience with BRCGS or other food safety and quality programs

     

  • Experience in quality systems and standards, inspection sampling methods, auditing, and manufacturing processes.

     

  • Prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching and mentoring a diverse staff.

  • Proficient in MS Office.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.

  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and challenge a diverse group of managers and leaders to achieve/exceed performance expectations.

  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Icing on the cake: 

  • MBA or other advanced degree. 

  • Experience working in a Union environment. 

  • Ability to maintain ASQ CQIA, CQPA, or CQE (preferred) certifications or achieve within 18 months of entry into position.
  • Proficient in SAP and Oracle.

Posted Salary Range: USD $125,000.00 - USD $155,000.00 /A Bonus Eligibility: Role is eligible for 14% annual incentive provided the business meets financial goals and the individual meets their performance goals, subject to plan administration guidelines.
