Role snapshot

  • Scope: Lead quality for aluminum building wire across North America, based at our Sedalia plant.
  • Reporting: Accountable to the North American I&C Regional Quality Manager.
  • Influence: Key member of the Sedalia Management Team, ensuring business objectives are met while sustaining an ISO 9001 QMS.

Your impact

  • Build a high-performance technician team via See–Do–Teach coaching, performance feedback, and daily technical direction.
  • Guarantee conformance to Prysmian and customer specifications for every product shipped.
  • Design, implement, and govern quality standards, processes, and controls.
  • Own the Quality System lifecycle—implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement to ISO 9001.
  • Run end-to-end audit programs: process audits, system audits across the Sedalia QMS, and rigorous product audits.
  • Approve methods and plans for inspection, testing, sampling, and training.
  • Use quality KPIs to evaluate capability; drive robust CAPAs with verification and validation.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement in every function.
  • Serve as a technical partner to customers—product/application discussions, performance data, and standards compliance.
  • Collaborate with North America HQ for reporting, reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Work cross-functionally within Sedalia to resolve issues and elevate customer service.
  • Maintain strong floor presence to identify opportunities and build alignment for improvements.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with internal and external stakeholders on quality topics.

What you need to succeed

  • Expertise in ASTM, UL, ICEA, and related low-voltage building wire/cable standards.
  • Ability to capture and translate customer technical requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship skills across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership fostering teamwork, quality mindset, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Practical problem-solving using established quality tools and methods.
  • Metrological competence applied to manufacturing and testing.
  • Experience maintaining ISO 9001 systems.
  • Knowledge of auditing practices, validation protocols, DV&V, risk analysis, and mitigation planning.

Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience); engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years managing in a manufacturing environment (required).
  • Mechanical engineering and/or metallurgy background strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to understand and communicate customer technical needs.
  • Experience with internal nonconformity management.
  • Fluency with common software tools and applications.
  • Wire and cable exposure is advantageous.
  • Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • ASQ certification is a plus.
