Job Title: Quality Assurance Supervisor (2nd Shift – Overnight)

Shift: 2nd Shift (Overnight) | Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM > Friday is a Flex Shift
Compensation: $80,000 – $90,000 annually + bonus eligibility (up to 5%)
Status: Direct Hire | Full-Time
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead the overnight 2nd shift quality function in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role oversees a small team of 2–3 Quality team members and reports directly to the Quality Manager. The ideal candidate is a strong critical thinker, highly detail-oriented, and capable of operating independently with minimal oversight on shift.
This is a key leadership position responsible for maintaining product quality, food safety compliance, and documentation accuracy in a highly regulated production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and lead a team of 2–3 Quality Control Technicians
- Review and approve production paperwork for finished goods release
- Initiate, document, and investigate quality holds and deviations
- Ensure all HACCP, SQF, CCP, and CQP requirements are consistently met
- Conduct internal audits and support audit readiness
- Oversee calibration schedules and verification of equipment
- Perform environmental monitoring and pre-operational inspections
- Ensure label compliance with regulatory and customer requirements
- Enforce GMPs, sanitation standards, and plant policies (including color coding)
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation (critical responsibility)
- Manage QA supply inventory and ordering as needed
- Support cross-functional communication between departments and shifts
- Assist Quality Assurance Manager with special projects and initiatives
- Ensure strong communication and handoff between shifts
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must have experience in the food manufacturing industry (required)
- Dairy experience preferred for candidates targeting higher compensation range
- 2–3+ years of experience leading or managing a quality team
- HACCP certification (required)
- Strong knowledge of SQF and/or other GFSI standards
- Proven ability to think critically and solve problems independently
- Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation skills (non-negotiable)
- Ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision on shift
- Strong communication and teamwork across departments and shifts
- Demonstrated job stability and strong tenure preferred
- Ability to work in cold environments
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs
