The Quality Supervisor manages and leads a team of Quality Leads and Quality Inspectors as they perform quality checks on the rework production floor in a high-speed environment. The Supervisor will assist their team in determining the disposition of current Production parts to ensure Tesla standards are being met. Supervisors must be prepared to make justified decisions and escalate concerns to the appropriate party by promoting a healthy culture of Quality. The purpose of the Quality Supervisor is to develop their team into highly skilled and knowledgeable Quality Leads and Quality Inspectors in order to minimize the amount of defective parts that are sent to Production. The Quality Supervisor is a key bridge between different departments when defects arise helping to quickly prevent additional flow out of non-conforming material.
- Manage a team of Quality Leads and Quality Inspectors in their day to day operations, including creating rotations, monitoring breaks and lunches, and providing all levels of coaching
- Coaching and mentoring the team during day to day operations as well as providing great feedback prior, during and post review periods
- Escalate concerns to Quality Inspection Management that are not being properly resolved in your immediate work area
- Comprehend current Production Quality standards and determine if ongoing production meets those standards
- Communicate emerging and trending quality issues to prevent negative impact to the factory
- Collaborating closely with other Tesla cross-functional teams such as; Planning Teams, Quality Engineers, PC Teams, etc.
- Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
- 5+ years of experience in an automotive production or manufacturing quality assurance environment
- Ability to lift and walk with objects up to 20 pounds in weight
- Work in a team-based environment and achieve common goals
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment requiring critical analysis is a plus
- Experience with training peers or co-workers
- Experience with measurement and inspection tools is a plus. (Calipers, Torque Wrenches, Measuring Tape, etc.)
