Job Title: Quality Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Quality Supervisor to manage quality control processes and oversee daily operations on the second shift. This role involves investigating root causes, problem-solving, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. You"ll be a go-getter, overseeing hourly challenges.

  • Act as a front-line liaison to production supervisors and staff in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions on quality issues affecting production.
  • Assist in planning quality control engineering assignments and coordinate tasks for technicians, inspectors, and associate-level engineers.
  • Ensure quality standards are met by all outside vendors and internal departments.
  • Coordinate quality aspects for new product development, including on-site start-ups and tool and vendor certifications.
  • Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment, and establish critical features and supporting process control information.
  • Develop and maintain inspection criteria for critical product features.
  • Analyze production limitations and standards, recommending revisions of specifications when necessary.
  • Assist in formulating quality control policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate progress and results, recommending changes in procedures or objectives as needed.
  • Develop and implement quality control training and mentoring for technicians.
  • Operate within an approved budget while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly 5S work area.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in quality, process engineering, or an equivalent field, preferably in the automotive or similar assembly industry.
  • Strong process improvement experience, including PFMEA, control plans, RCCA (8D), CAR/CAPA, DOE, gage R&R, PPAP, engineering drawing, GD&T, product failure analysis, and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, being a self-starter capable of independent work.
  • Demonstrated Black Belt knowledge; experience with Six Sigma methods/tools and Lean Manufacturing is preferred.
  • Bachelor"s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required.

Work Environment

The role involves supervising a team of 10-15 people on the second shift, focusing on final assembly and production. The position requires quick problem-solving skills with a focus on torque failures and paint issues. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring effective communication and collaboration with on-call team members. The dress code is casual, and the facility promotes a clean and orderly 5S workspace.

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
