Overview:
This role ensures the accuracy and reliability of all quality testing that supports customer satisfaction, production flow, and regulatory compliance.
The First Line Supervisor leads the daily Quality Laboratory operations by following site policies and safety rules and philosophy. This position leads daily lab operations and engages the technicians in problem solving, continuous improvement, and safe work practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership and people management:
Effectively lead a team of Laboratory Technicians with responsibility for all aspects of safety, product quality and operating efficiency.
• Must be willing to work flexible work hours.
• Shift coverage, occasional weekend support, and on call (weekends / off-hours).
• Ensure maintenance activities are supporting area objectives.
• Identify and train employees where needed.
• Lead employee coaching, counseling, and career development.
• Utilize performance management of personnel and take corrective action when necessary.

Operations and continuous Improvement:
• Establish clear performance expectations (KPIs), monitor, and provide periodic feedback to promote growth.

• Maintain safety awareness through regular communication, training, area audits and near miss findings.
LANGUAGE SKILS:
• Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively collaborate to build solid business relationships with other functional areas that best supports customer and business objectives.
