SAFETY & QUALITY MANAGER (Automotive Warehousing & Distribution (U.S.)

Position Summary
The Safety & Quality Manager is responsible for leading all health & safety and quality functions within the facility. This role ensures compliance with U.S. regulatory requirements, drives a strong safety culture, and maintains high-quality standards to meet customer expectations in a fast-paced automotive logistics environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Leadership & Compliance
  • Lead and enforce all workplace health and safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and applicable state regulations
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
  • Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement in safety performance
  • Lead safety meetings and employee engagement initiatives
  • Promote a proactive, zero-incident safety culture
Quality Management
  • Oversee all quality processes to ensure compliance with customer and automotive standards (e.g., ISO awareness preferred)
  • Manage inspections, audits, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Investigate quality issues and implement root cause solutions
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and traceability of materials
  • Support customer audits and maintain strong customer relationships
Operational Support
  • Partner with operations to embed safety and quality into all processes
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Monitor KPIs and drive performance improvements
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen)
Training & Development
  • Develop and deliver safety and quality training programs
  • Ensure employee compliance with procedures, certifications, and standards
  • Coach supervisors and managers on safety accountability and quality expectations
Reporting & Documentation
  • Maintain safety and quality records, logs, and compliance documentation
  • Track and report KPIs (incidents, near misses, defects, audit results)
  • Communicate performance trends and improvement plans to leadership
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in safety and/or quality leadership in warehousing, logistics, or automotive
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and quality management systems
  • Experience in automotive or just-in-time (JIT) environment preferred
  • Proven experience with audits, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
