A growing packaging manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Quality, Safety & Sustainability Manager to lead and continuously improve site-wide quality, safety, environmental, and sustainability programs. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for maintaining compliance, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

Description

  • Lead and continuously improve the site's ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
  • Manage quality processes, including internal audits, corrective actions (CAPA), root cause analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Develop, maintain, and standardize SOPs, work instructions, risk assessments, and operational controls.
  • Oversee site safety programs and ensure compliance with all California OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and employee training programs.
  • Lead sustainability and environmental initiatives, including waste reduction, recycling, and compliance programs.
  • Track, analyze, and report quality, safety, and sustainability KPIs to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Partner with operations leadership to optimize workflows, improve process efficiency, and strengthen operational controls.
  • Lead cross-functional projects focused on quality, compliance, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Support customer audits, regulatory requirements, and compliance-related requests while serving as the site's subject matter expert for quality, safety, and sustainability.

Profile

A successful Quality, Safety, and Sustainability Manager should have:

  • 7-10+ years of experience managing ISO 9001 quality systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading safety and environmental programs.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements, internal auditing, CAPA, risk management, and root cause analysis.
  • Working knowledge of California OSHA regulations and safety management systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in packaging, printing, display manufacturing, consumer products, contract manufacturing, fulfillment, or related industries.
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and reporting tools, including FSC, PEFC, Sedex, EcoVadis, environmental metrics, and carbon accounting.
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification.
