Job Summary and Qualifications

The Quality Coordinator works in collaboration with the medical and hospital staff to ensure interdisciplinary provision of evidenced based guidelines care to patients. This position provides professional expertise in the analysis and improvement of care for patients and functions as a performance management and improvement educator and coach for hospital and medical staff to ensure optimal care management and outcomes. The Coordinator collects, analyzes data and improves processes and outcomes, as prioritized. This position identifies best practices and promotes utilization of such within the organization.

What you will do in this role:

  • Systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and nursing services, analyzing appropriate internal and external data and information to identify opportunities in collaboration with stakeholders for improving services and patient outcomes
  • Evaluate own performance based on professional practice standards, relevant studies and regulations, and organizational criteria identifying areas of strength, as well as areas for professional/practice development.
  • Contribute to nursing management education and professional development of staff, students, and colleagues in an environment of mutual respect and understanding
  • Promote research and integrate evidence-based knowledge into the identification of best practice in the delivery of nursing care to the appropriate population.
  • Promote and monitor regulatory agency standards and customer service expectations for the practice of all aspects of nursing.
  • Responsible for interviewing and hiring in conjunction with the department director.
  • Assist the Department Director to operate within approved budget.
  • Utilize the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as the foundation for nursing practice
  • Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and others practicing in a Shared Governance model of nursing practice.
  • Assist Department Director in directing nursing units and programs.
  • Ensure quality of care for patients and families represents FRMC mission and values.
  • Develop and monitor programs.
  • Promote satisfaction of internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with care providers to achieve compliance with quality indicators.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Kentucky or compact state required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  •  3 years of clinical experience preferred.
