Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Shop‑Floor Quality Support

  • Provide hands‑on technical guidance in teardown, inspection, testing, calibration, and documentation.
  • Reinforce standard work, inspection criteria, and test procedures through daily shop‑floor presence.
  • Deliver real‑time feedback to improve quality, consistency, and documentation discipline.
  • Support technician qualification processes by validating competency against established standards (without owning training program design).

 Inspection Oversight

  • Supervise Final Inspectors and ensure all inspections meet OEM, NBIC, and customer requirements.
  • Oversee final inspection activities for PRVs, control valves, and isolation valves.
  • Review and approve inspection records, test reports, and documentation packages.
  • Oversee calibration, care, and maintenance of inspection tools, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Provide technical support to shop, field, and sales teams.

 Process & Product Quality Assurance

  • Monitor repair workflows to identify quality risks, variation, and nonconformances.
  • Support in‑process inspections and guide technicians on quality expectations.
  • Enforce consistent application of standard work, inspection criteria, and test procedures.
  • Collaborate with Operations and leadership to align quality initiatives with business goals.

 NCR, CAPA & Root Cause Analysis

  • Lead or support investigations into nonconformances, test failures, and customer complaints.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain NCR documentation, track closure progress, and support defect trend analysis.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce variation and improve first‑pass yield.

 Documentation, Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure all repair travelers, inspection sheets, and test reports are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
  • Maintain compliance with NBIC, OEM repair standards, and internal QMS requirements.
  • Support internal audits and customer/regulatory audit readiness.
  • Assist Sales with updates to General Customer Specification (GCS) documentation.

Leadership, Collaboration & Communication

  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and performance feedback to Final Inspectors.
  • Maintain strong communication with management, technicians, OEM partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Report quality metrics, inspection performance, and compliance status to senior leadership.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Travel to company locations and customer sites as needed for technical support.

 Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in valve repair, quality control, or related technical field.
  • 2+ years in a supervisory, inspection, or quality leadership role.
  • Hands‑on experience with PRVs, control valves, and/or isolation valves.
  • Strong understanding of inspection methods, test procedures, and repair documentation.
  • Familiarity with NBIC, OEM repair standards, and industrial service environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and repair standards.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation discipline.
  • Proficiency with QMS/ERP systems and quality documentation tools.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience supervising inspectors or leading technical teams.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • ASQ certifications (CQI, CQT, or similar).
  • Experience with Emerson/Fisher or other major valve OEMs.
