The Quality Manager will have the opportunity to build, strengthen, and lead quality processes, partner closely with operations, and help establish a strong foundation for long-term success.

What You’ll Do

The Quality Manager will support plant operations by improving manufacturing processes, reducing defects, and ensuring products meet customer, regulatory, and company quality standards. This role will serve as a key technical resource for problem-solving, documentation, corrective action, and continuous improvement while leading the quality function for the site.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and support the QA Inspector team, including current team members and future growth within the department.
  • Own nonconformance investigations, including root cause analysis, containment, corrective action, and preventive action.
  • Manage customer quality issues, complaints, RMA trends, and related follow-up to ensure concerns are documented, addressed, and resolved effectively.
  • Maintain and improve control plans, check sheets, first-piece approvals, sampling methods, and quality documentation.
  • Track quality metrics, including scrap, rework, RMA trends, customer complaints, and other KPIs; use data to drive improvement actions.
  • Provide assigned KPIs to management on a monthly basis.
  • Support inspections, testing, audits, and quality documentation required by customers, suppliers, and internal standards.
  • Participate in internal, customer, and supplier audits; prepare supporting documentation as needed.
  • Work with suppliers on quality concerns, material issues, and specification compliance.
  • Partner with Production, Planning, Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations to resolve daily quality and operational issues.
  • Develop, document, and improve standard work, job instructions, layouts, workflows, and manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze production bottlenecks, downtime, scrap, labor usage, and capacity to identify and drive solutions.
  • Lead and support Lean, 5S, and Kaizen activities to improve safety, efficiency, quality, and material flow.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and change notices to support manufacturability and quality requirements.
  • Train production employees on new processes, quality requirements, and documentation expectations.
  • Support ERP accuracy related to BOMs, routings, part setup, and material usage.
  • Communicate clearly across shifts, departments, plant leadership, and corporate engineering or quality teams.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, or quality management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience leading or supporting a quality team, quality inspection function, or quality management process.
  • Experience with root cause analysis tools such as 5 Why, Ishikawa, DMAIC, PFMEA, control plans, and CAPA.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, inspection processes, testing requirements, corrective action, and documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
  • Experience managing customer quality concerns with professionalism, urgency, and strong follow-through.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and data analysis.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across production, operations, quality, engineering, suppliers, and customers.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead with ownership, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.

What Will Set You Apart

  • ISO 9001 compliance experience.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Green Belt certification.
  • Experience leading Lean, 5S, or Kaizen initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • HVAC, metals, machining, engineered-to-order manufacturing, or related production experience.
  • Strong customer management experience, particularly around quality issues, corrective actions, and issue resolution.
  • Experience building quality processes, systems, and team capability in a growing or evolving operation.
  • Experience as a Quality Manager, QA Manager, Quality Engineering Manager, or similar quality leadership role.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence across departments and drive results through partnership.

  • A visible leadership role with direct impact on product quality, customer satisfaction, process improvement, and plant performance.
  • The ability to lead and develop a quality team while strengthening quality systems and processes.
  • A hands-on role that partners closely with production, operations, engineering, suppliers, customers, and plant leadership.
