Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager for a precision aerospace machine shop located in Milford, CT. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing the Quality Management System (QMS), overseeing inspections, ensuring audit readiness, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong AS9100/ISO 9001 knowledge and experience in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and maintain the AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality Management System
Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections
Manage internal audits and ensure audit readiness
Support FAI (AS9102) and customer quality requirements
Drive root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA, and corrective actions
Manage non-conformance reporting and resolution
Maintain document control and calibration systems
Serve as primary contact for customer and supplier quality issues
Reduce scrap and improve overall product quality
Supervise and mentor quality inspectors
Qualifications
Experience in aerospace or precision machine shop manufacturing
Strong knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001
Hands-on inspection and metrology experience
Experience with audits, CAPA, and continuous improvement
Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
