Overview:

We currently hiring an experienced Quality Manager in Hampton, VA.

Description:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems that ensure defense products meet customer, regulatory, contractual, and military specifications. This role oversees quality assurance personnel, drives continuous improvement initiatives, manages audits and corrective actions, and ensures compliance with applicable customer standards and government defense requirements.

Quality Management:

  • Help develop, implement, and maintain the company"s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, defense contracts, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.
  • Maintain quality documentation, procedures, work instructions, and records.

Regulatory & Defense Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with defense industry regulations and standards.
  • Support government inspections and customer audits.
  • Manage quality requirements related to military specifications, defense contracts, and supplier quality programs.
  • Coordinate with program management and engineering teams on contract quality requirements.

Quality Assurance Operations:

  • Establish quality objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure product conformity.
  • Oversee inspection, testing, calibration, and quality control activities.
  • Manage nonconformance reporting and disposition processes.

Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA):

  • Lead root cause analysis investigations.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
  • Track effectiveness of corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other quality improvement methodologies.

Supplier Quality Management:

  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality concerns and improve performance.
  • Ensure purchased materials meet contractual and technical requirements.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Leading and managing the QA/NDT team in the development, implementation, and execution of quality assurance processes and strategies.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, procurement, and program management teams.

Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship.
  • BS Degree.
  • Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Root Cause Analysis (8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys)
  • Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • ERP and quality management software
  • Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Hampton, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
