Tesla Energy is looking for an experiences Quality leader for its site. In this role, you will build a world class quality team and process to enable Tesla to deliver Data Center Manufacturing capabilities to drive Tesla's mission in building a world of amazing abundance. The Quality Manager will be responsible for managing, inspiring, and developing a team made up of Associate Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Leads, and Technicians. The Manager provides hands-on support, leadership, and direction to their direct reports, and takes pride in their hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a track record of significant achievements, tremendous drive, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves.
Manage an engineering team focused on driving continuous improvement and an operations team focused on daily operations; Lead creation and improvement of training and development of team members within the quality operations teams
Develop, implement, and maintain standards and procedures as part of the Tesla Quality Management System
Establish, monitor status to internal and external quality performance metrics and drive continuous improvement; Drive continue improvements to key internal factory metrics: Safety, People, Quality, Rate, and Cost
Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams to drive process and product improvements; use of QA methodologies to manage and facilitate issue resolution including root cause investigations and the development, implementation and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actions
Organize and prioritize work with minimal guidance and manage projects in a timely and effective manner
Present performance metrics and status of critical issues to executive management and drive process adherence alignment across all shifts, in all departments
Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering, Six Sigma certification, ASQ-CQE, or equivalent working experience
5+ years of quality leadership experience in manufacturing and/or designing new products for high-volume operations
Proven ability to build and lead a strong team in a 24x7 manufacturing environment
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience Root Cause Analysis, and Statistical Analysis
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize in highly dynamic production environment
Ability to resolve quality issues with urgency on a 24x7 production environment, which require flexibility when the need arises.
