Description

Job Title: Quality ManagerJob Description

The Quality Manager will be responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring business compliance with all customer and regulatory requirements. This role requires the development, implementation, and continual improvement of quality systems and procedures that support manufacturing operations, quality and supplier management, documentation, training, and auditing. The Quality Manager will ensure that all products and paperwork shipping to customers meet drawing requirements and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Quality Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001 / AS9100 quality standards.
  • Serve as the focal point for customer audits, including corrective actions.
  • Perform internal audits and assign corrective actions.
  • Participate in customer-required PPAPs, PFMEAs, and process flow charts.
  • Support Engineering Investigation Reports.
  • Conduct quality department training as necessary.
  • Maintain the stamp control process.
  • Maintain the approved supplier list.
  • Track and maintain supplier audit programs and supplier non-conformances.
  • Manage various quality projects as necessary.
  • Supervise quality control operations to achieve production, cost of quality, and safety objectives.
  • Ensure quality standards for raw material, work-in-process, outside processing, and finished products.
  • Provide work direction for inspection staff.
  • Process non-conforming material reports (NCMRs) to suppliers.
  • Support contract review for Q-Clauses as required.
  • Support continuous improvement of department operations and processes.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in a field related to Quality Control or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of managing ISO9001 / AS9100 aerospace quality standards QMS.
  • 5+ years of leading internal and external audits in compliance with AS9100.
  • 3+ years of quality experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment and 2+ years of leadership experience in a quality capacity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in report writing and customer communication.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Quality experience in electrical and mechanical component assembly environment.
  • Working knowledge of FAR part 21.
  • Strong command of basic SPC, MSA, RCCA.
  • Ability to perform PFMEA and Production Flowcharts.
  • Lean knowledge and/or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience in aircraft component testing and tear down.

Work Environment

This is a mid-size company that operates like a family-owned business, offering a great opportunity to work on the leadership team. The role is an on-the-floor manager position, operating one shift from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Quality Manager may need to visit suppliers onsite if necessary. The role involves developing the department, initially having no quality engineers, and eventually hiring a quality engineer. The company values a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
