Primary Function:

The Global Quality Manager is responsible for driving quality performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across global manufacturing operations for RF Products, EMI Filters, Supercapacitors, Power and Circuit Protection Devices. This role is focused on supporting ongoing production, resolving systemic issues, ensuring process stability, and aligning quality systems and standards across sites to meet internal and customer requirements.

This position partners closely with Operations, Plant Quality Managers, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Customer Service to ensure robust product performance in volume production. The role is based in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, and reports directly to the Corporate Vice President of Quality with a dotted-line relationship to the Divisional Vice President.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead global initiatives to improve quality performance of existing in full-scale production.
  • Collaborate with plant quality teams to ensure consistent application of quality systems, control plans, and best practices across manufacturing sites.
  • Monitor and analyze key quality indicators such as DPPM, first-pass yield, scrap rates, and customer complaints to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
  • Support structured problem solving (8D, A3) and root cause analysis on production and field quality issues; ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of quality standards, control plans, and risk mitigation tools such as PFMEA and process audits.
  • Facilitate cross-functional reviews of chronic quality problems and lead systemic improvement activities.
  • Coordinate customer quality responses and corrective action reporting to ensure satisfaction and timely resolution of issues.
  • Conduct periodic assessments and internal audits to ensure quality compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other relevant standards.
  • Provide coaching and training to plant-level quality teams on quality tools, audit readiness, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Support corporate quality initiatives and reporting, contributing to the global alignment of policies, systems, and KPIs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Management required. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality, preferably within the EMI, circuit protection, or supercapacitor industries.
  • Root cause analysis experience required (8D, PDCA).
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as PFMEA, SPC, MSA, and control plans.
  • Hands-on experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or equivalent quality management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to support high-volume manufacturing and drive operational quality improvements.
  • Experience with structured problem solving and continuous improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to influence across cultures and functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP, MES, or quality systems software is a plus.
  • Physical Demands and Travel: Up to 5% of international travel is required to support global manufacturing sites, customer meetings, and internal quality reviews. Flexibility in work hours is expected to accommodate global operations.
