The Quality Internal Auditor is responsible for reviewing, developing, and assisting in maintaining internal audit records and preparing internal audit reports. Review manufacturing process records to ensure that customer and regulatory requirements are met. Review, create, and maintain daily production files, which include all production processing, quality paperwork, and other site-wide documents for other departments.

Assist in the supervision of all quality assurance functions, implementation, development, audit, and maintenance of the plant's quality and food safety systems. Also including HACCP to assure compliance and customer satisfaction by monitoring personnel, training, and maintaining order in technical expertise. Provide technical support/resource for quality assurance personnel, production, and other plant departments.

Compensation- $27.00 - 29.00 an hour

Responsibilities:

  • Audit POM Facility and make recommendations via work orders to ensure we are meeting the requirements of the BRC Global Standards. Follow up on audit recommendations.
  • Plan, implement, and follow up on internal audit non-conformances to ensure they are documented, corrected, and communicated.
  • Review every clause of the BRC at least once per year to ensure we are compliant, and drive change as needed to ensure compliance.
  • Construct a plan to meet the requirements of the Calendar of Events, Quality Systems audit Schedule, Glass and Brittle Plastic registry, GMP Compliance, Non-Conformance Log, and evidence of compliance for each clause.
  • Generate a scorecard for compliance by department, area, and report out findings to help drive change.
  • Knowledge of the purpose and the requirements of the BRC Global Standards and the audit and certification process.
  • Attention to detail and ability to conduct internal audits using BRC Global Standards Guidelines.
  • Ability to work with multiple departments and various levels of management to drive corrective actions of non-conformances identified.
  • Other duties as assigned to support food safety and plant operations.

Quality and Food Safety: Development, implementation, and maintenance of all applicable elements of the POM Wonderful Quality and Food Safety systems in order to assure compliance.

Communication skills: Persuasive and productive communication skills to appropriately communicate directly with operational personnel, coworkers, and management.

Work quality Expectations: Maintain a high-quality process to ensure the product is safe and of high quality.

Teamwork: Promote communication, involve staff and employees, support staff, communicate objectives, and develop employee potential. Assist in leading problem-solving efforts through team meetings and on-the-floor leadership to effectively influence positive change and continuous improvement.

Auditing: Daily auditing of site-wide records, which include, but are not limited to, quality and production records. Support the Internal Auditing Program.

HACCP: Responsible for understanding and supporting the sustainment and development of POM Wonderful's HACCP Food Safety Program.

OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES:

Responsible for reviewing all quality policies, procedures, and forms annually or as changes are needed.

Assist in documentation control, which consists of but is not limited to approval, annual review, and revisions.

Makes recommendations for department enhancements to the Quality team and commits to other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills & experience that are necessary as our Quality Internal Auditor will include, but not limited to:

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10''s and 100''s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and extreme cold.
  • Communicate in written and oral manner. Provide presentations and lead meetings as required.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

At least having a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent, such as a General Educational Development (GED) certificate, and experience in a leading capacity, with a specific emphasis in food safety, preferably within a production/manufacturing setting.
