Position Summary
The Quality Inspection Supervisor leads daily receiving, in-process, and final inspection activities in a fast-paced manufacturing startup. This role is both hands-on and supervisory, ensuring product quality, supporting production flow, and maintaining compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Candidate will be looked to help stand up aspects of the quality department. Candidate must have aerospace or defense experience, inspection leadership and knowledge of AS9100/AS9102.
Oversee receiving, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
Prioritize inspection work to meet production schedules and delivery commitments
Review and approve inspection results and disposition decisions
Partner with production, engineering, and supply chain to resolve quality issues
Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using precision tools
Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI)
Verify material certifications and supplier documentation
Support containment and investigation of nonconforming products
Lead, train, and mentor inspection staff
Assign daily tasks and monitor performance
Promote cross-training and continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer requirements
Maintain inspection records and traceability
Support internal and external audits
Improve inspection procedures and documentation
Identify opportunities to reduce defects and improve efficiency
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions
Support lean initiatives
5+ years of manufacturing quality inspection experience
2+ years in a lead or supervisory role
Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems
Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection
Proficient with precision measurement tools
Experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing
Knowledge of root cause methods (5 Whys, Fishbone)
Experience with digital quality or ERP systems
High school diploma required; technical or associate degree preferred
U.S. citizenship required due to defense contract regulations
