Position Summary
We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Quality Inspector / Logistics Specialist to support both product quality assurance and daily logistics operations at our advanced materials manufacturing facility. This dual-role position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing hands-on inspection work with inventory control, and coordination across departments.
The successful candidate will help ensure materials meet quality requirements while also supporting accurate, timely, and compliant movement of goods to customers and suppliers. This role is critical to maintaining customer satisfaction, production flow, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection Duties- Perform receiving, first piece, and final inspections of materials and finished goods.
- Verify conformance to drawings, specifications, work instructions, and internal quality standards.
- Maintain inspection records, documentation, and traceability requirements.
- Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming material.
- Support corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Use measuring tools and inspection equipment accurately.
Logistics Duties- Coordinate daily receiving and inventory movement activities.
- Prepare shipments, labels, and packing lists.
- Receive incoming goods and verify quantities, condition, and documentation accuracy.
- Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock moves, and ERP transactions.
- Serve as backup support for logistics leadership when needed.
- Communicate effectively with production, planning, quality, customers, and carriers.
Qualifications
Required- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, logistics, warehouse, or related operations roles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and shipping documentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in warehouse/production environments.
Preferred- Experience in aerospace, composites, or advanced materials manufacturing.
- Knowledge of quality systems such as AS9100 or ISO-based systems.
- Forklift or material handling experience.
- Experience with international shipping or export compliance documentation.
