Detailed Description:

  • Inspects products and processes to ensure conformance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Utilizes advanced tools, instruments, and techniques to complete inspection tasks effectively.
  • Maintains all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Complies with procedures, policies and API / ISO regulations.
  • Perform receiving inspections of DHT components and materials to verify the supplier compliance with company specifications.
  • Performs First Article Inspections to support the new supplier qualification process.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of DHT products to verify conformance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Review and approve documentation from 3rd parties that perform nondestructive testing of the DHT products.
  • Control nonconforming products via creating NCRs and segregating products to prevent unintended use.
  • Verify the Certificate of Conformance reflects all the required information per requirements.
  • As needed, support other inspection areas outside of the Downhole Tools product line.

Job Requirements:

  • Quality inspection experience within Oil and Gas or other manufacturing environment.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with other employees and departments.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Preferred to have experience using SAP S/4HANA for quality management.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical inspection methods including the use of micrometers, calipers, height gages, API thread inspection gages, and quality standards.
  • Mathematical skills that may include addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, and converting between decimals and fractions.
  • Excellent time management with minimal supervision.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing or quality experience environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is regularly required to stand and walk, occasionally required to sit, and to communicate verbally or audibly. Additionally, the employee must be able to reach with hands and arms and to use manual dexterity.
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.

Additional Details:

This position operates in a manufacturing environment and requires the ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods while performing inspection activities. The Quality Inspector - DHT must possess strong visual acuity and hand dexterity for precision measurement tasks and be capable of safely lifting up to 50 pounds. Employees are required to pass an annual visual acuity test, with or without corrective lenses. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
