Quality Engineer - Construction / DoD / Manufacturing

Job Summary: Join an engineering-driven organization focused on advancing innovative manufacturing solutions across commercial, defense, and aerospace industries. We are seeking multiple Quality Engineer III professionals to partner with Program Management, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined and effectively implemented. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams, subcontractors, and customer representatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain program Quality Plans, inspection strategies, and verification approaches for equipment procurement and installation.
Collaborate with Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure on-time delivery of products and services.
Develop and implement methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection.
Support the definition and qualification of quality inspection equipment and gaging.
Analyze reports and product nonconformances to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
Support root cause and corrective/preventive action analysis using tools such as FMEA, Fishbone, A3, Fault Tree Analysis, SPC, and others.
Collaborate with suppliers and customers on quality issues and ensure effective corrective actions.
Prepare and implement quality assurance policies, procedures, and review cycles.
Manage internal audit processes, including scheduling and reporting.
Evaluate audit findings and support corrective action implementation.
Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
Represent the organization in meetings with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Provide quality input during equipment specification and procurement decisions.
Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and readiness events.
Define and review FAT, SAT, and installation qualification requirements.
Review supplier quality documentation including control plans, inspection reports, FAT/FAI results, and corrective actions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar environment
Additional 4+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Experience supporting construction quality and facility commissioning activities
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and drive process improvements
Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and communication skills
Proven ability to collaborate across teams and influence outcomes in a fast-paced environment
Certification as a Lead Auditor preferred
Experience working with international/OCONUS organizations preferred
Experience in energetic materials or explosives manufacturing environments preferred
