Position Summary
The Quality Engineer provides on-floor support for assembly operations, serving as the first line of defense in preventing defects from reaching the customer. This role ensures effective containment of issues, supports rapid problem resolution, and helps maintain stable, efficient production.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and contain nonconforming material on the assembly floor
Respond to and support resolution of quality issues in real time
Ensure compliance with work instructions, process controls, and error-proofing systems
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, CAR)
Drive escalation of issues and coordinate with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality
Minimize production disruptions caused by quality-related issues
Reinforce standard work, process discipline, and quality expectations
Support continuous improvement activities and sustainment of improvements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (preferred)
Experience in manufacturing or assembly operations
Knowledge of quality systems and problem-solving tools
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Required Skills
Quality systems knowledge (containment, 8D/CAR)
Understanding of assembly processes and variation
Experience with error-proofing and process controls
Strong problem-solving skills
