SUMMARY

This person is primarily responsible for executing, verifying and implementing contractual, engineering and business planning requirements in accordance with customer requirements and company QMS. They utilize statistical thinking and methodologies to identify opportunities, plan improvements, execute those plans, and then follow up to ensure business results have been statistically improved and sustained, especially with regard to meeting customer expectations. They are in-house consultants to all departments to facilitate and lead improvement activities. They support engineering efforts that relate to quality improvement. They participate in and support activities involving compliance with applicable regulatory and Quality Management System requirements. They coordinate and execute plans to maintain an ISO-certified quality system at AAE Aerospace.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Quality Engineer supporting Aerospace programs ensuring the build, assembly, and test of all hardware meet quality requirements. • Review and approval of Drawing Changes Task, Test Procedure reviews, manufacturing work instructions reviews and PO instructions to External Providers. • Responsible for ensuring all engineering requirements are met prior to performing Product Acceptance. • Responsible for generating and maintaining FAI reports for complete product including fabricating applicable required mechanical and physical test reports. • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. • Support constraint reviews for manufacturing operations and applicable test protocols, assuring all constraints are captured and communicated in a professional timely manner. • May analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality control tests. • Provide Frequent Activity Reports to Management, highlighting critical activities and major occurrences. • Engages in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action. • Work may include support of Quality metrics generation

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent specialized experience. • 3+ years' experience with Quality Assurance programs in a corporate environment preferred.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Four (4) year degree or equivalent in work experience. • Adequate years of experience in Quality Control / Assurance in a manufacturing environment and or training in a related field determined by Karman. • Adequate years of experience implementing and or managing ISO Quality systems determined by Karman.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a professional office environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

No travel is required for this position.

LICENSING & CERTIFICATION

• Quality/statistical related certifications advantageous (ASQ, Six Sigma, Lean). • Professional auditing experience preferable. • Quality certification, or RAB certification, preferred
