Temporary Position - 9 Months

A Taste of What Youll Do

Were looking for a collaborative Quality Engineer to help strengthen food safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement across our supply base and operations. In this role, youll apply and support quality systems, partner with internal and external stakeholders, and help ensure products meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and brand protection expectations. Youll serve as a key quality liaison, supporting supplier performance, driving audits and corrective actions, and helping teams stay aligned on quality objectives.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, analyzing data, and working across functions to improve performance. Youll investigate opportunities to increase competitiveness, improve throughput, reduce operational costs, and implement quality-focused policies, procedures, and systems. Youll facilitate root-cause analysis, apply statistical techniques to quality and sampling decisions, develop reports and scorecards, and share findings with stakeholders to support informed action and continuous improvement.

You may also support supplier qualification, onsite production investigations, risk management, test method development, regulatory certification, and quality verification activities. Success in this role means balancing technical insight with strong communication, sound judgment, and a commitment to follow-through. What Youll Need

  • Bachelors degree Food Science, Enology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology plus 2 years of quality assurance/quality control, production, operations, winemaking, or engineering experience reflecting increasing levels or responsibility; OR, High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of quality assurance/quality control, production, operations, winemaking, or engineering experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Research and problem-solving skills.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

How Youll Stand Out

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, plus 1 year of quality assurance systems management experience reflecting increasing levels or responsibility.
  • Experience auditing food safety or quality systems.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated team building, leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrated use of root cause analysis or Lean tools.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Experience making effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and boards of directors.
  • Skilled in applying principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Skilled in applying mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, or factor analysis.
  • Experience building relationships and influencing organizational functions such as Operations, Engineering, Supplier Development, and Supply Chain.
  • Skilled in the use of Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint at an intermediate level; additionally, experienced in LiveLink, Minitab, WineManager, and LIMS.
  • Experience with Food and Beverage industry best practices, FDA regulations, and quality systems.
  • Experience effectively responding to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
  • Excellent organization and negotiation skills.
  • Experience handling multiple projects and effectively managing timelines.
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) CQE/CQA Certifications.
