Quality Department Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

BASIC PURPOSE:

Currently the position involves overseeing product and metrological quality in manufacturing.

PAY: $85,000 Annually

SHIFT: 1st

TOP SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Possess strong overall office skills, including use of computers, their applications, and other office equipment.
• Must have aptitude required to understand and apply directions for operating various machinery.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to use gauges and other measuring equipment to ensure quality work.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred.

ACTUAL TASKS:

• Work with process engineer, department supervisor, and other personnel to ensure quality of production/manufacturing.
• Review and recommend gauges and related quality equipment.
• Communicate with engineering in Germany to make necessary changes and improvements to parts and/or processes.
• Request waivers from German engineering on manufactured parts that can be salvaged.
• Work with purchasing and other personnel to recommend sources for raw material including castings, forgings, and bar stock.

A 10% shift premium is paid for 2nd and 3rd shift positions.
