Quality Control Technician – Greensboro

Ionbond – The Surface Engineers

What defines this job?

  • Inspects coated parts for coating thickness, coating adherence, surface finish, substrate & coating hardness, size, and appearance, records inspection information consistent with prescribed methods and procedures
  • Conduct audits under supervision; control plan audits, product audits, 5S, HSE, QMS self-assessment and customer supplied audit forms
  • Maintain a clean workstation; ensure it is functioning within required safety guidelines, and maintaining lab equipment
  • Must be able to read and understand PFMEA and control plans
  • Ensure that equipment in inspection area is calibrated and bring to attention of supervisor on any non-conforming condition
  • Testing materials and finished products to ensure they conform to all applicable laws and company standards.
  • Perform SPC Audits to ensure consistency with prescribed SPC charts and recommends the disposition of and/or acceptable corrective action for nonconforming parts within established Quality Assurance guidelines
  • Use precision measuring instruments and makes precision inspection set-ups

What do we ask?

Minimum High School education with sufficient knowledge gained through experience; Associate degree preferred. 2+ years’ experience working in a quality lab setting performing QC and QA testing procedures. Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office (specifically Excel.) Good organization and time management. Must be able to sit/stand for long periods. Must be able to read small print, as small as 6 font and distinguish color differences. Must be able to wear required PPE. Strong critical thinking skills. Effective communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Good dexterity skills, able to handle precision machined parts. Ability to read instructions in English. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a criminal background check and physical screening.
