Our client in Fox Chapel is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor

Duties:

* Operate various test equipment, including spectrophotometers, GCMS, viscometers, titrators, melting point apparatus, FTIR, balances, and other analytical chemistry instruments.
* Inspect incoming raw materials and third-party manufactured products against sampling plans and material specifications using prescribed test methods.
* Review supplier test certificates for accuracy and completeness.
* Identify conforming and non-conforming raw materials and third-party products after testing.
* Check manufactured batches for key characteristics in accordance with quality control inspection reports.
* Investigate the root causes of non-conforming products and quarantine parts if necessary.
* Support quality assurance (QA) with customer complaints, as relevant.
* Prepare concession forms, quarantine notes, and scrap authorization forms for non-conforming products and submit them for management approval.
* Record raw material and production batch test results and conduct basic data analysis to identify trends.
* Maintain retained samples for raw materials, manufactured batches, and sample slides and manage the disposal of old samples as required.
* Ensure that measuring equipment is calibrated according to the documented process.
* Proactively train and mentor other quality control technicians as needed.
* Conduct MSA studies in accordance with business requirements.
* Support and mentor the quality control group in maintaining a high level of Six Sigma (6S) in the workplace.




Requirements:

* Must have a Bachelor"s or Associate"s degree in Chemistry (or related scientific field) with strong knowledge of lab testing methods and protocols.
* Must have 5-8 years of leadership experience, including supervision of a Quality Control laboratory in a chemical manufacturing environment.
* Must have hands-on experience with industrial chemical manufacturing and formal problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D reporting).
* Must have strong organizational, decision-making, and leadership skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and lead a team effectively.
